Big Brother to the Rescue

Spencer got his 6 month shots today and was a bit out of sorts, but Peter cuddling him and reading him a story made it all better.

Peter's Writing

Peter's writing skills have taken off in the last couple weeks.  Before, it would take all his energy and fine motor skills to painstakingly form a few capitals letters.  With all but the most familiar letters he had to work from a model or ask how the letter should look.  Now, suddenly, he can write much more quickly and accurately in either capital or lowercase letters.

Our New Time Line

This weekend Doug helped me hang our new time line.  It wraps around the hallway and foyer to give me 500 inches of time line space.  Right now we are focusing on our family history covering 4 generations (my grandparents through my children).  I am hoping this will help the kids visualize how generations work.  We will be slowly adding significant events onto the time line.

b or d?

Peter has been having a hard time with b-d reversals.  It is causing him reading trouble so I've been trying a few things to help him keep them straight.  So far our b and d ... kids? ... monsters? ... turkeys? ... have been helping the most.  b has a big belly and d has a dirty diaper.

Magic Bath Paints

I prepared a big batch of white bath paint and then added it to muffin cups that already had a few drops of food coloring in them.

When the boys stirred the cups twelve different colors of paint appeared.

They spent a long time painting the tub, the toys, themselves and me.

By the end everyone and everything was clean and we just had to rinse all the supplies so they are ready for another day.
