Flashbacks

I started this blog when Peter and Elliot were about 2 and a half and 6 months old.  Since then, the blog has proven a very convenient place to record and remember our day to day lives, vacations, outings, family visits and school activities.

I've decided to go back and fill in my first 2.5 years of parenthood.  I'm going to pre-date the flashback posts so they will appear chronologically on the blog, but I will include a note in each to reflect the fact that they were not posted until much after the fact.

School Year Wrap-Up: Geography

We finished our map study of the eastern hemisphere with an emphasis on the middle east and ancient lands.  Peter (and to a certain extent, Elliot as well) can now locate on a map:  Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, the Solomon Islands, Alaska, Russia, China, Mongolia, India, Japan, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Rome, Greece and the Mesopotamian region.

We focused on the Mesopotamian civilizations, and Peter and Elliot both made file folder books illustrating what they learned:

Elliot's:

June is Here and the Garden is Still Alive!!!

This is highly unusual.  Normally I have managed to kill the garden before anything (other than weeds) actually grows.  This year I have real, live fruit and vegetable plants growing: swiss chard, beets, green beans, zucchini, green peppers and cantaloupe!!
