First Grade and Pre-K, Weeks 7 - 13

These have been some busy weeks!!  The last school recap was back in mid-September when I was waddling through the final month of pregnancy.  Then I had some minor health issues, Audrey was unexpectedly induced early and we had a whirlwind month of visitors.  Things are finally settling in to our new normal now...just in time for holiday craziness to start.

Math:
Peter is cruising.  He has rocked the first half of the third grade math book and learned a lot about Roman numerals, order of operations, multiplication, elapsed time and solving money story problems.  Next up - geometry, systems of measurement and lots of practice with division and fractions.

History:
We started out this period studying Babylon, Greece and Alexander the Great.  We read a simplified version of The Odyssey, did some Greek weaving and colored maps to learn about the geography of ancient civilizations.

Next we moved on to studying ancient Rome.  We built an aqueduct and are reading Detectives in Togas.
